StencilGirl and & etchall Blog Hop :) :) :)

Hello Hello :)

Welcome to the StencilGirl and etchall Blog Hop :) :) :)

Today  I would like to share with you some of my creative fun using the etchall on stones and a slate paver to create some fun decorated rocks to use in my plant potting [I am a huuuuuge cactus and succulent fan/collector}.

These are the rocks I decorated using the etchall with the fabulous StencilGirl stencil [below image]. I plan on using these in my cactus pots, I have a couple I need to repot so I am on the look out for pots that are a little more grungy looking to match the stones.

This wonderful Swallows stencil was designed by Tracie Lyn Huskamp >>> HERE

...and here are some close ups of the etched stones :)

I have included a couple of photo collages of process photos so that you can get an idea of just how simple the process was for decorating these rocks. To ensure that the stencil adhered to the curved rock I applied adhesive quite liberally with a tape runner to the underside of the stencil, then applied it to the rock.

When the stencil was adhered evenly I then applied the etchall cream using a palette knife. I left this to work for about 15 minutes, removed the stencil and then rinsed off the etchall cream with water. I cleaned up my stencil using orange oil to remove the adhesive and a wet wipe.

Just as an extra lil bit of fun I planted up a fun planter bowl using a slate paver that I had etched a swallow onto. I am on the look out for some charcoal-black stones to place in the planter to compliment the look and complete it. I plan on keeping these succulents clipped [a little like Bonsai]

I do hope that you have enjoyed this fun creative share?! Please do hop onto the next fabulous designer listed above !

These are the set I was lucky to get to create with, and I chose the inspiration card Journal with a permanent pen or marker.

I had so much fun embellishing a canvas pencil case using the 'Large Bubbles' Stencil designed by Patricia Baldwin Seggebruch.

...and here are some close ups; especially of the journaling [speech bubbles], that I created using a black Signo gel pen.

The next 2 images are collages of step-out photos; just to give you an idea of how I created the image on the pencil case.

I used my fave 'go-to' Posca paint pens to draw and colour in my ladies.

Well that is it from me please hop to the next fabulous team member for today; Torrie :) :) :)

Hello Hello :)

It is Blog Hop time at the Fabulous StencilGirl :) :) :) We get to create using amazing stencils, aaaaaand use Mary-Beth Shaws favest Tim Holtz products :) :) :)

Here are the Blog Hop Links :) :) :)

October 18: Adirondack Alcohol Inks

October 19: Distress Oxide Ink Pads
Gwen Lafleur
Louise Nelson  <<< You Are Here :) :) :)
October 20: Distress Crayons Sherry Canino

I got to create using the most amazing Distress Oxide Inks [they are freaking fabulous]!!!! and the amazing open Bare Wisteria Stencil designed by Trish McKinney :) :) :)

So for this blog hop I decided to create a mixed media scrapbooking layout. I have included step out photos and brief descriptions below, of the creative steps, of how I created this layout background using the StencGirl Stencil and Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink!

Using white cardstock as a background I created a textured background using the vine stencil, Finnabair modelling paste, and Vivia Decor crackle paste. I allowed this to dry before proceeding to next steps.

Using the 3 Oxide inks depicted above I covered the textured background with a thick coat of the oxide ink, applying it directly using the ink pad itself. I then used a moistened [with water] fan brush to spread and blend the ink on the textured background.

I used a heat tool to dry the ink off. When it was completely dry I used the ink pad again to add colour highlights to certain areas of the textured pattern. In some areas I used my finger to smudge on more ink, especially in the flat texture areas. Only in the blue area did I buff off a little of the ink.

And this is my completed layout! I was really happy with the effects I was able to achieve using the oxide ink on the textured stencil pattern! Below are some close ups :) :) :)

Well I do hope you are enjoying this wonderful and inspiring blog hop! Cheers for now and it is on to the next Fabulous Creative on the list :) :) :)

Cheers and Happy Creating

StencilGirl & Colourcraft Blog Hop :) :) :)

Hello Hello :)

Welcome to the First Stage of the StencilGirl and Colourcraft Blog Hop

Today I would like to share with you a flower inspired clay plate and bowl set.

The petals are represented by the Zinnia stencil printed plate and the centre of the flower [the stamens] by the crackle stencil printed bowl.

I first created the plate and bowl using air hardening modelling clay [product link below]. Using a rolling pin to imprint the StencilGirl stencil patterns in to the clay.
I first sealed the plate and bowl with Finnabar Heavy Gesso. When this was dry I applied a coat of Colourcraft black drawing ink, [product link below]. This was dried off using a heat tool and then buffed back with a wet wipe to leave some remnants of black ink to highlight the flower pattern.

I then sprinkled on some of the Turquoise Brusho [product link below], moistened it with a spray of water and then spread the Brusho over the plate, and allowed to partially dry.

I then buffed back some of the turquoise brusho with a wet wipe. I then sprinkled on some of the sea green brusho [product link below] moistened it with water, and then spread it over the plate.

When the plate was dry I applied a wash of Colourcraft white drawing ink[product link below], I worked the ink over the plate with a wet wipe, this helped to tone down and combine the two brusho colours.

To highlight the StencilGirl Stencilled Zinnia pattern I drew over it with the black drawing ink, and buffed it back with a wet wipe. This same process was used for the bowl, except in the inside of the bowl I didn't apply the white ink. I applied black ink to highlight the pattern of the stencil to represent the dark stamens of a flower.
The last image you can see in the above picture collage is of a jug made by Australian Artist Merric Boyd, it is the colour inspiration for my project.

The fabulous StencilGirl Stencils I have used are listed below.

Deconstructed Zinna mask and stencil designed by Traci Burista S290

Crackle stencil designed by Nathalie Kalbach L169

Well I do hope you have enjoyed the process share of creating this project It is time to click on the next link in the Blog Hop  :) :) :)
